Underfloor heating can be a cost-effective alternative to radiators
There was a time when underfloor heating was considered to be only available to the wealthy, but these days you can easily incorporate this luxury home feature into any room renovation or extension.
Traditional radiators need to be heated to a high temperature (65 – 75 degrees celsius) to effectively heat up a room, whereas floor heating can be run at 29 degrees celsius or less (depending on the floor finish) – consuming less energy.
Heating controls can be tailored for each room and a programmable thermostat can be used to ensure the heating comes on when you are most likely to be in the room – this saves you heating the whole house when you are only using 1 or 2 rooms.
With underfloor heating installed, you can walk around barefoot all year round! Heat is distributed evenly and consistently around the room rather than it being warmer next to the radiator.
Imagine being able to use your whole room without worrying about not putting furniture in front of radiators? You will also be able to decorate as you wish without having to plan around radiators.
Improve air quality
Radiators work by circulating the air which redistributes dust particles. These dust particles float in the air making it easier for us to breathe them in. Warming the room using underfloor heating means there is far less air movement for dust particles so we are less likely to breathe them in.
