Some exciting FLBClub meetings coming up

The August meeting is the Summer Social

The next meeting of the FLBClub is the Summer Social on Thursday 1st August starting at 7pm at Buscot Mill, Brandy Island, Buscot SN7 8DA courtesy of Greg and Shirley Wheeler of Cotswold Boat Hire.

There will be a fabulous hog roast with assorted salads; ice creams on sale from Club member, Ray’s Ice Cream and musical entertainment from new Club member, Delores, Vintage singer. And, as in previous years, members and their guests can take free boat trips up and down the Thames. The Club does not have a licence to sell alcohol, so please bring your own drinks – wine, beer, soft drinks.

Breakfast at Cotswold Hoburne in September

Our September breakfast meeting will be on Thursday 26th September starting at 8am at Cotswold Hoburne, South Cerney. Our guest speaker will be Graham Dawson, the Horse Whisperer! He will be explaining all about Essential Leadership Skills for Small Business Owners and different ways to develop them. There will be a bit of informative fun with Graham’s Leadership Effectiveness Questionnaire.

A full English breakfast with tea/coffee costs £10, tea/coffee only costs £2 and the meeting is free. Booking is essential.

The FLBClub Business Awards Launch is in October

Once again, we will be holding the Business Awards and the Launch at Sudbury House Hotel, Faringdon. The Launch will be on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm and you can meet previous winners, past sponsors and hear how being a winner or a sponsor has helped their business. Also details on how to enter the FLBClub Business Awards 2020.

Not to be missed – a tour of Arkell’s Brewery in November

The FLBClub is thrilled to have been invited to take a tour of Arkell’s Brewery in Kingsdown, Swindon. As well as the tour by Arkell’s Director, Alex Arkell, members and their guests will be able to enjoy a talk by Alex about Arkell’s Brewery, also be able to visit the Grape & Grain onsite shop and enjoy a few refreshments. This is likely to be very popular, so early booking is recommended.

A Christmas breakfast at Wrag Barn in December

Our December breakfast meeting will be on Thursday 19th December starting at 8am at Wrag Barn Golf Club, Highworth. Our guest speaker will be Wrag Barn’s co-owner, Verity Manners who will explain how Wrag Barn has diversified to keep up to date with changing times and also her involvement with Swindon Radio 105.5FM.
