We are continuing to provide an emergency service for all essential work.
With people at home during the lockdown, it is likely that boilers are under strain with more people using hot water and heating. If you have a plumbing emergency or there is something wrong with your boiler, please don’t try to tackle the issue yourself. Get in touch with the experts – we are here if you need us!
Our central priority is the safety and well-being of our customers and staff with particular focus on vulnerable customers and customers who have gone off supply.
Before confirming a booking, we will establish if you or any member of your household has had any symptoms of the coronavirus. When our engineers arrive at you house to carry out essential work, they will call you, so that you can open the door and then self-isolate whilst they carry out the work.

Some things to think about…
Have you checked your CO alarm?
Are you working from home? Don’t forget to check your CO alarm, it only takes a couple of minutes! You cannot see, taste, or smell carbon monoxide but it can kill quickly with little warning.
How hot should your water be?
Cylinder thermostats should be set between 55 and 65 degrees. This is hot enough to kill harmful bacteria 🦠 in the water but could also be hot enough to scald. For extra safety consider installing a thermostatic mixing valve which will automatically ensure that hot water is at a safe temperature.
Have you checked your oil supplies?
If you have an oil boiler, don’t forget to check your oil supplies and limit unnecessary call outs. If you run out of oil, a qualified engineer must attend to restart the boiler.
Plumbing tips for your home
In lockdown, many of us are spending more time attending our gardens, spring cleaning and dealing with the little jobs around the house that we have put off for so long. We have included some useful plumbing tips for your home on our new website.
Even during these uncertain times, Landlords have a legal duty to repair and maintain gas pipework, flues and appliances. They also need to ensure that an annual gas safety check is carried out on each appliance and flue. The latest restrictions on leaving the home currently allow registered gas engineers to undertake essential work, whilst taking the appropriate precautions advised to avoid spreading or contracting the virus in a new setting.
Our priority is the wellbeing of our staff and customers. The Purple Plumbing People would like to assure you that we will do our best to maintain a professional service as efficiently and in as timely a manner as we can.
We remain in consultation with local authorities and have taken on board all suggested safety precautions and will endeavour to meet your requirements without putting either yourselves or our dedicated team at any increased risk.
If we are calling on you and you require anything from a shop that you haven’t been able to pick up yourself, then please let us know and we’ll do our best to help.
