The world-famous Trout Inn in Lechlade is one of the few venues in the Cotswolds that offers live jazz on a regular basis. There is a varied programme, with Trad on most Tuesday evenings and Modern to Mainstream on most Sunday nights during the summer and autumn months.
There are also many Big Band concerts on Sunday afternoons during the summer. These take place in the marquee in the garden with the musicians playing out to a large garden audience.
Regular quiz nights are held on the 1st Friday of every month during Autumn, Winter and early Spring. These are often charity events, supporting both local and national causes.
Theatre @ The Trout (TATT) is a programme of drama presented in the Marquee Theatre behind the Creel Bar. It allows the audience to experience everything from comedy nights to full length plays in an intimate atmosphere with great food and drink available.
The last week end in May, normally sees a gathering of historic river craft, coracles, kayaks and various interesting boats that meet here for a weekend of messing about on the river.
This is followed on the 1st weekend of June with the ‘World Famous Tractor and Steam Rally’ which is a casual event for anything old which goes. The magic of steam never ceases to impress, and all the enthusiasts who come to the show are most accommodating to visitors’ questions about their engines, tractors and other old things.
Also during June there is ‘Troutfest’ – the annual beer and music day which has been running for over 12 years and goes from strength to strength.
In July, look out for the ‘Riverfolk’ festival, which is a 2 day folk event arranged for the Trout by Jay and her team who also run a bi-monthly folk club in our Creel bar.
Further details of all the events at the Trout Inn can be found on www.thetroutinn.com, which is regularly updated.
