The Club Championships were held over the weekend of 19th/20th September.
With a prize fund of over £1000 – thanks to the generosity of Badcock Golf Range Services and our Club President Mike Bowes – there was everything to play for.
There were 123 entries from all sections of the golf club including 13 Juniors and, although there was a strong breeze, the sun shone the whole weekend, which always makes the marathon of 36 holes more of a pleasure than endurance.
The Champion Golfer this year is Tony Keyes who shot an impressive 149 over the 2 days.
The net prize went to Daniel Harper who shot 8 under his handicap on the Sunday.
There were 2 hole-in-ones recorded – one by Paul G Watts and the other by Ivor Whinny. There was a rush to the bar to celebrate – socially distanced of course!
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to the marshals, green-keeping staff, clubhouse staff and committee members who gave up their time to run the competition.
Looking forward to squeezing in as much golf before the cold weather and short days arrive.
